The El Paso Pug Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We are committed to the aid of homeless, mistreated, neglected, and unwanted Pugs. We are dedicated to every dog who comes into our rescue, and will never discriminate against health or age. We also accept other brachycephalic, small-breed dogs.
Our mission is to provide aid to the victims of animal cruelty and neglect, and to find safe and successful homes for homeless Pugs. We are committed to seeing our rescued dogs through to happy lives. We promote responsible Pug ownership through public education about the unique needs of Pugs and promote spaying/neutering.
The El Paso Pug Rescue was founded in May 2015 after Amanda’s Pug meet-up group EPUG began to receive requests for help. (EPUG is actually still active to this day, and is encouraged by EPPR to join!) It was through EPUG that we began to realize that there was a real need for a Pug rescue in El Paso, TX.
All of the original EPPR team members were also original members of the VIP volunteer program with the City of El Paso Animal Services, so we saw first hand how great the need for another local rescue was. Our friends at El Paso Animal Services helped support our desire to start a rescue and guided us with getting established with the City of El Paso.
We are always excited to meet and network with other local rescues because we can only strengthen the animal rescue community in El Paso TOGETHER.
We are completely run by volunteers meaning NO ONE IS PAID AT THE EL PASO PUG RESCUE. Everyone who works for this organization does so through simple kindness. The El Paso Pug Rescue has been incorporated by the state of Texas since 2015 and became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the IRS since August 7, 2015.
